The award for the Cork City Sports Athlete for the Month of May went to Louise Shanahan of Bruce College and Leevale AC. Louise received  the award for her performances at the both Munster and Irish Schools  Track & Field Championships. After a double in the 800m and 1500m Senior Girls at the Munster schools championships at Cork IT she followed this up with a very impressive victory in her specialist  event the 800m at Tullamore track on the 30th May. Her winning time  here was 2:13.52.
